The City of McCallsburg is located in northeast Story County with a population of 333. We are a friendly and active community. McCallsburg is within easy driving distance of Ames, Nevada, Marshalltown and Des Moines. McCallsburg offers all the bendfits of small town living.

If a resident of McCallsburg has an issue or concern about another resident or any other problem a Complaint form must be filled out before any action will be taken. The Complaint form can be picked up from City Hall or downloaded from the City's website. The form can be dropped off at City Hall and must be completely filled out. Please contact City Hall if you have any questions.
A new meter reading system is being installed and will be used starting in January. There will be adjustments that will have to be made from our new program and our old one.

ALL ATV, UTV , SNOWMOBILES OR GOLF CARTS MUST BE REGISTERED WITH THE CITY. THERE IS A LICENSE APPLICATION ON THE CITY GOVERNMENT PAGE. A PROOF OF INSURANCE AND A PICTURE OF ATV, UTV, SNOWMOBILE OR GOLF CART MUST ACCOMPANY THE APPLICATION. THERE IS AN ANNUAL FEE OF $30.00 FOR THE LICENSE WHICH MUST BE RENEWED EVERY JANUARY 1ST. THE LICENSE SHOULD BE PUT ON THE BACK OF ATV, UTV, SNOWMOBILE OR GOLF CART AND SHOULD BE EASILY VISIBLE. THE DRIVER OF THE ATV, UTV, SNOWMOBILE OR GOLF CART MUST BE AT LEAST 16 YEARS OLD AND HOLD A VALID DRIVER'S LICENSE.
The City is going to be putting new benches in at the park. The City was wondering if anyone would be interested in sponsoring a bench. Please contact City Hall if you are interested or have any questions at 434-2242.
The shelter at the park is in the process of being renovated. Part of the shelter is being enclosed and a bathroom has been added. Anyone interested in using the shelter must reserve it by calling City Hall at 515-434-2242.
